Vladimir Yevtushenkov is the founder of AFK Sistema, a successful businessman, and investor who today focuses on charitable initiatives and the development of social projects.
Early Years
Vladimir Yevtushenkov was born in the village of Kamenshchina (Smolensk region).
Mr Yevtushenkov’s parents worked at the local dairy plant. His father was the director. Mother was a milkmaid.
After graduating from school, Vladimir Yevtushenkov went to serve in the army.
Yevtushenkov Vladimir has two higher educations. He graduated from Mendeleev University. The future businessman dreamed of having his laboratory and conducting experiments while still in school.
Vladimir Yevtushenkov got his second degree at Lomonosov University. He graduated with a degree in economics. Later he defended his master’s and doctoral theses.
Vladimir Yevtushenkov’s Working Biography
At the beginning of his career, Mr Yevtushenkov worked at large Soviet research and production enterprises. He started at the Sverdlov Plant. Later, for 12 years, he worked at the Karacharovsky Plastics Plant in Moscow.
In 1993 he became the founder of AFK Sistema. Later he left the Board of Directors of the corporation. Today the Group has assets in the following civil sectors:
Telecommunications;
IT;
Retail and e-commerce;
finance;
agriculture;
healthcare services, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals;
timber industry.
Vladimir Yevtushenkov And Charity
In 2004 Yevtushenkov Vladimir established a charity foundation, which today supports the development of high technology and helps to implement long-term projects in areas such as education and science, culture and enlightenment, and health care.
Two years ago, Vladimir Yevtushenkov initiated the #CountryWithoutVirus campaign. Thanks to it, more than two dozen healthcare institutions in different Russian regions received help.
